The following tutorial will show you the steps to make an untethered free jailbreak on iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0 sau iOS 5.0.1 and iPad 2 with iOS 5.0.1 using Absinthe, a simple and safe method. Currently this free jailbreak method is only available for Mac OS X platform.
So Absinthe is the tool that makes untethered jailbreak on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 tablet on the following iOS versions:
- iPhone 4S cu iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 (9A405 și 9A406);
- iPad 2 Wifi/GSM cu iOS 5.0.1
Step 1: Download the latest Absinthe version on your Mac;
Step 2: The jailbreak process is very simple. Just connect your device, iPhone 4S or iPad 2, to your Mac and click on the "Jailbreak".
Step 3: After the installation is complete you have to click on the new icon that will appear on Home Screen, for the process to be complete; (see picture below)
Step 4: After a few moments, the untethered jailbreak is already installed on your device.
Now, very carefully. You may receive the error “Error Establishing Database Connection” (because of overcrowding the Chronic Dev Team servers) but there is no problem. Go to Settings> General> Network and turn on VPN. You will receive another error (it is perfectly normal) then your device should automatically reboot.
Now everything should be functional and you can enjoy this free jailbreak on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 running iOS 5/5.0.1.
